Golden Bay Flights History

Fly Directly to and from Brown Hut, Heaphy Track Start

Remote Adventures Scenic Flights is a well established business run by Jim Larsen and offering a range of scenic flights over the beautiful Golden Bay area, and now also further afield to Paraparaumu, Wanganui and Taranaki.

Jim’s Heaphy Track Transport service connects with more centres and will fly with just one passenger if requested. He has flights between Takaka, Karamea, Nelson, Motueka and can arrange shuttle connections if required.

Jim has been flying trampers to the Heaphy Track connection centres for the last 10 years including a connection to the start of the track at the Collingwood end. He is the only fixed aircraft operator that can do this. He flys a Cessna 185 aircraft which has high wings and windows all round which gives passengers excellent viewing.

He has built up an excellent reputation for consistency and safe flying with the communities of Golden Bay & Karamea, and with both information sites in these centres and the Department of Conservation. He also has a high ranking for safety with the Civil Aviation Authority. He resides in the only house adjacent to the Takaka airport including passenger reception.

Invitation to Chinese and Halal Workshops

Hello

The email below from Tourism New Zealand regarding Chinese and Halal Workshops is forwarded for your information.  If you are interested please register by clicking on the link in the email.

Regards

Tracy

Subject: Chinese and Halal Workshops

Kia ora folks

As you know Tourism New Zealand, together with industry experts, is hosting a series of full-day workshops for businesses with an interest in Chinese and halal tourism.

Today we have extended the registration deadline for these events to enable RTOs and trade associations to better promote these to their members.

New deadlines are included below. Our web page at http://www.tourismnewzealand.com/upcoming-events/upcoming-events/chinese-and-halal-workshop/ will be updated to reflect these new dates tomorrow.

While the events will be held in Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown, Auckland and Rotorua it would be appreciated if those RTOs bordering these cities could also encourage their members to attend.

Note that the Wellington date on 3 October follows the TIA Summit on 2 October so delegates to the latter could be encouraged to ‘stay over’.

Castle in Nelson, New Zealand

An interesting property I found on Trademe today! Nelson receives most sunny days in New Zealand - worth considering don't you think?

Advertisement found here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/property/residential/for-sale/auction-459294157.htm

If you believe the saying 'my home is my castle' then this home will achieve your dream by making it a reailty.

If you want to stand out from the crowd, live in an amazingly unique home with stunning views across the ocean and the mountains in a very sought after location with an english village style charm, then you need to come on in and view this wonderful home. The locality boasts the stylish Monaco Resort Hotel and Restaurant as well as the ambient Old English Honest Lawyer Pub and just down the driveway is a delightful little cafe to pop into on your daily strool along the waterfront.

The property has everything a castle owner might expect with a grand entrance, including a mini moat, so all you need is your own knight in a suit of armour, and yes we have that too!

The castle has spacious 3 car garaging with workshop/office space, the downstairs area has a large, gracious entrance way with an impressive spiral stairway, a large rumpus/games/leisure room with toilet facilities, two single bedrooms with separate shower and toilet, a master bedroom with ensuite and a kitchenette area for guests who enjoy a nightcap!

Upstairs is a stunning, warm, sunny, large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area leading out to an amazing wrap around deck for superb summer family living or entertaining? Off the lounge is a short passage way that leads to the magnificent master bedroom, bathroom, dressing room and attached office/studio. A separate toilet is also located in the passage way.

The 683m2 section is landscaped in an easy to care for fashion and has been well planned to enhance the setting. A reserve borders the property and the around corner is a boat jetty for those who also enjoy this hobby. You will fall in love with Monaco and all it has to offer.
